Funding Prerequisites

For Rural Education and Leadership (REAL) Christian Foundation Inc. to consider funding an organization, the organization for which funding is requested must:


1. Be Christ-centered;

2. Make an intentional effort to share the Gospel with those who are not followers of Christ;

3. Make an intentional effort to disciple those who are followers of Christ;

4. Be a community-based 501(c)(3) organization;

5. Be located and serve in a rural Mississippi city, town, or community (We define rural as an area having a population of less than 10,000 people, sparsely populated, and/or being remote in the sense that people are located far from basic necessities.);

6. Have a board of directors of three or more members that is not dominated by family or staff and that meets at least twice a year;

7. Have a statement of faith approved by REAL;

8. Have a focus on youth and leadership (or mentorship) development;

9. Have a committed and proven leadership that is asking REAL to come along beside the organization to fulfill God’s plan for the community served through the organization;

10. Must be willing to support REAL’s vision of networking with other similar ministries by coming together on a regular basis;

11. Must give an annual gift of at least $50 to REAL; and

12. Must submit the grant application and all supporting documentation by the given deadline date.
